We all agree that on most days, kids are a blessing from God but wait until you have grandkids!
That’s when your life really changes. We’re up to 14 grandkids now and 10 great grandchildren (2009), and it’s a hoot at our house on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I just love spoiling our grandkids and then sending them home with their parents. It helps soothe the memories of them growing up, and I would warn them that I was praying God would give them children “just like them.”
God is so good! And He answers prayers. I do love spending time with them.
One day my granddaughter, Hilliary, was riding with me in the car, and it began to rain.
She asked, “Awma, how does God make it rain?”
“I’m not sure Hilly,” I replied. “Sometimes I think those are God’s tears falling to earth when He sees how people are living their lives.”
She was silent for a moment, then said, “You’re cool, Awma.”
Ahh, such wisdom.
She then let down her window and held her hand out in the wind. She brought it back in with her hands cupped and said, “Look, Awma, I’ve got God’s breath in my hands.”
And I said, “Know what Hilly? You’re cool!”
Now, that’s the greatest thing this side of heaven!
